“For we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s field; God’s building.”

Connect – with others
Build – in relationships
Grow – closer to God

Life Stream strives to provide a Children’s Ministry with an atmosphere that resembles heaven, and draws children closer to their Savior. Our goal is to help children build a bible-based, Christ centered foundation in a loving environment.

Our Nursery class (ages birth-3) is a safe, caring environment offered during all of our services. Located in our Younger Wing area, our classroom has both a soft play area for infants and a “rough and tumble” side for toddlers with bathroom and changing areas as well. Nursery care is provided during all of our services with nurturing leaders with a passion for showing God’s love to even the youngest in the kingdom.

Kid’s Club

Our Younger Wing is a fun, safe environment where children Pre-K, DK/K and 1st Grade can come to learn more about Jesus through worship, lessons, crafts and even the occasional puppet show! Each week, kids will memorize a new verse that corresponds with that day’s bible story. Make new friends, do fun crafts, hear stories and grow closer to God!

Building 25

Also called “B25,” our class is for children in Grades 2-5. Each month, we discuss monthly themes and learn a monthly verse. We have a lesson time, worship time, and small group time. See what the buzz is about! The energy in here is contagious!

Building 25 meets during our 9:30 and 11am services.

Route 2:52 6:30-7:45pm

“And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.” –Luke 2:52

Route 2:52 is our Wednesday night program for children DK- 5th grades. Kids will play fun games during Gym Time, hear an exciting Bible lesson in our Chapel Time, and memorize verses during our Listening Time. Also, don’t miss our awesome Spirit Nights and Family Nights! Cruise on by and check it out!

Family Nights

Our goal is to bring families closer together and fellowship with other families, all while having fun and worshipping God! We have had events such as roller-skating, Family Olympics, Pumpkin carving, and much more. Keep an eye out for upcoming family events!

Praise & Dance Ministry

Life Stream periodically promotes a six week class, offering basic dance technique that will allow us to learn a praise and worship dance.  This class does not offer a formal education for dance.  Instead, the class is designed for focusing on praising the Lord with dance for all levels of experience.  No prior experience is required.  Our hope is for dancers to discover new things and the joy of praising our Savior with dance.  At the end of the six weeks there will be an opportunity to perform our routine at Life Stream Church, most likely on a Sunday Morning during church service.  There may be a few optional and additional chances to perform. This ministry is open to the community!  Please feel welcome to invite and share details with those you think will be interested.  Classes are led by by Tina Denbow and Alissa Tollefson. Please contact Tina or Alissa with questions.   There is a one-time fee of $10 for the six weeks.

My name is Tina Denbow, and I am excited to share my vision with you about liturgical dance at Life Stream Church.    My journey in dance began when I was 5 years old, studying various forms, including ballet, tap, jazz, and hip-hop.  I studied formally until I was 19 years old at the Vi Shafer School of Dance in Coloma, Mi.  During that time I was a member of the International Dance Troupe, as well as an instructor at the school.

Also during that time, I began to feel a call to the Nursing Profession.  In 1991 to 1995, I attended Grand Valley State University achieving a Bachelors of Science in Nursing.  At this time I decided to put my dancing on hold.  I loved the art of dance, hoping it would still be a part of my life in some fashion.  It was also a big turning point for me in my faith walk at this time.  My relationship with Jesus, thankfully, became very personal to me.  I continued to follow my call as a nurse and soon finding my home in Pediatrics at the Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital, where I continue to work.

In 2001, at our church home Hager Park, Jenison Mi, I was invited to join the adult Sacred Dance Group at our church.  I was blessed by this group of women, learning how the art of dance can glorify God.  Soon after that I led various dance groups at church for ages 2nd grade to 6th grade.  My love for dance has truly come full circle.  Being able to use dance to praise God is such a blessing to me.  Even more importantly, being able to share this joy with others and help them discover it in their own lives is overwhelmingly humbling and exciting.  I look forward to getting to know your dancer and spending time with them in the weeks ahead.  Thank you for letting them participate!

My name is Alissa Tollefson and I am so thankful to have the opportunity to work alongside Tina to lead your children in Life Stream’s Dance and Praise Team. My husband Caleb and I recently relocated to Allendale after living in Chicago for five years and we are very happy to be here J.

I am originally from Naperville, Illinois where I grew up dancing from the age of three. I graduated from Hope College in December of 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Special Education and Dance Education. After graduating, I moved to Chicago to pursue my lifelong dream of being a professional dancer. I apprenticed for River North Dance Chicago for two summers and participated in the Scholarship Program at Lou Conte Dance Studio before becoming a full-company member at Thodos Dance Chicago, a contemporary dance company. While dancing professionally, I continued to pursue my passion for educating children in the art form, and spent five years teaching and choreographing for children and adolescents ages 3-25 at various studios and intensives throughout the Chicagoland area. I spent four seasons with Thodos before moving to Allendale. Currently, I am teaching and choreographing for Modern and Jazz technique classes at Grand Valley State University and working to open my own dance studio, Lake Michigan Dance Academy, here in Allendale.

I am excited to a part of the community here at Life Stream and very much look forward to working with your children!  God Bless!
