The story of the Prodigal Son is one that resonates so profoundly through different moments in our lives. Take some time to read this word of encouragement from Tom.
Blessings to you all today!
“When he came to his senses, he said, ‘how many of my fathers hired men have food to spare,
and here I am starving to death’...
The Prodigal son in this story thought he had it all figured out, how to enjoy his days and not get dragged down by the drudgery of life. He would take what was available to him and live without a care in the world, until…it all ran out. No matter what, even the exotic becomes ‘common’ if you do it for awhile.
We’ve all heard the saying, “Life isn’t a race, it’s a journey”. The best plan for your journey is to
stay in a relationship with the Real Provider, God Himself, and expect to stay in it for the duration of life itself. God always has our best interests in mind, and He will give direction through His Word, the Bible.
He gives us peace in times of trouble, comfort when we are hurting and patience when there is no where to turn. Running off on your own is risky business at best, but if you’ve gone that way remember this story, the Father is looking and will always welcome you back!
