Baptism

BAPTISM

Am I ready to be baptized?

What is baptism?

Baptism is…

  • An outward sign of an inward change which occurred when you placed your faith in Jesus and stepped into a relationship with Him.

  • A symbol of your desire to join with God on the journey of a transformative life.

  • A way to identify with the gospel of Jesus in His death, burial, and resurrection.

  • Your personal testimony and inward assurance of your passage from your old life to a new life with Jesus.

  • A public declaration and opportunity to share with others your intent to follow Jesus in every area of your life.

We are not saved by baptism - salvation comes by faith.

“And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.”
EPHESIANS 2:8-9

Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.”
ROMANS 6:3-4

Baptism is an amazing transformational step in your life. We are excited to connect with you and be part of your next step in faith! To get started, click the button that applies to you.

Why is the Bible important?

BIBLE

Bible Lessons

What is the Bible?

The Bible is the Word of God, written by many different authors over a span of time and inspired by the Holy Spirit.

The Bible has two parts: the Old Testament and the New Testament. The Old Testament encompasses God’s story before Jesus was born, and the New Testament encompasses the time of Jesus’ birth and beyond. Both parts point to salvation through Jesus.

“For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.”

Hebrews 4:12

Reading and studying the Bible guides and strengthens us in our everyday life.  Watch how your faith and love for God deepen as you spend time in His Word!

STEWARD

Giving is not about an obligation or payment for salvation. We give our time, talents, resources, and money because of our gratitude for all God has done for us.

“At the moment I have all I need—and more! I am generously supplied with the gifts you sent me with Epaphroditus. They are a sweet-smelling sacrifice that is acceptable and pleasing to God. And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.”  -  Philippians 4:18-19

Through our relationship with God, we learn that the giving of our gifts, time, and personal resources can bring great JOY! All that we have comes from God, and giving back is a step of faith and an act of worship.

“And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.”  -  Romans 8:28

Your life journey has a purpose and God can use it!

Many people feel intimidated about the prospect of sharing their faith in Christ. But sharing your faith does not have to be overwhelming or difficult. In fact, telling others about what Jesus has done for you is the most effective way to help others understand who Jesus is! God’s work in our world is to bring as many people to Himself as He can, and He invites us to join in that work.

Your story has power!

By sharing what God has done for you, the Spirit of God is able to move in others, helping them to take their own steps in faith. We believe in the power of your testimony. To share what God has done in your life, click the link below.

SERVE

You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.

- Galatians 5:13

Serve with us!

Serving one another is a great way to grow closer to God and closer to your neighbor. It's a way that we can truly be God's hands and feet to those around us while keeping a humble spirit. We have lots of ways that you can serve within Life Stream - so check it out!

Why do we serve?

Throughout the Gospels, we see Jesus model serving. Jesus gives us the perfect example of living a life serving others. As Mark 10:45 explains, “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Our savior did not come seeking to be served, but instead, He continually served those the world rejected.

While we must understand no amount of service will lead to our salvation, Christians recognize the reason we serve others is because of all He did to forgive us. It is because of our belief in His love and His great salvation that we love others.  Along these same lines, it is important to understand that Christianity is not a solo sport. It is the exact opposite. Our membership in God’s church means we each have a unique role to play.

We should never serve (or give) for personal recognition or accolades. Instead, when we serve, we should serve humbly. It is through serving others that we will shine a light that will glorify the Lord.

God isn’t looking for the most successful or most popular person to serve – He is looking for the most willing. We all have gifts we can use to serve Him and serve others. We just need to be willing.
