Communications Director
Job Description
MINISTRY OVERVIEW
The Communications Director will create, organize, plan and implement effective communications messages and strategies for/with church and community audiences. The individual will support church and ministry leaders in conveying their vision and communications priorities to appropriate audiences through social media, graphic design, and engaging video content. This position will work closely with the Creative Arts and Connections Departments at Life Stream Church.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate on a regular basis will perform:

Oversee all the aspects of Life Stream Church communication, including print materials, digital elements, email, website, social media, and service/event promotion.

Strengthen various ministries by supporting the development of communication plans specific to their audiences.

Work closely with the Connections Director to help facilitate systems and processes for connecting people into the life of the church. Develop and implement a church-wide communication plan that reflects Life Stream’s Mission and Values.

Lead in the area of communication by setting the strategy, creative vision, project management standards, and measures for communication initiatives and branding.

Cultivate, lead and manage a Communication Team (writing, editing, photography, design, social media, etc.) of volunteers to help implement our communications strategy.

Keep social media and our website updated and engaging.

Work with the Creative Arts Director on projects including but not limited to testimony videos, announcements, special events, sermon bumper videos, Sunday recaps, and any other creative elements that require communication channels.

Collaborate with the Executive Pastor to create a yearly budget for the Communications Department.

Communication and collaboration with other staff regarding the church calendar and staff calendar.
All other responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, graphic design, or similar-related field preferred.

Preferred 3-5 years experience in graphic and creative design.

Minimum 1 year ministry experience preferred.
TECHNICAL SKILLS NEEDED

Must be excited to learn and willing to grow.

Must have strong communication and organizational skills.

Recommended experience in Canva, Google Suite, and Planning Center Online.

Proficient in graphic design and photography.

Experience in social media content development and platform management.
-
Experience in website creation, development, and management.
COMPENSATION
This is currently a full-time salaried position, based on experience and overall availability. The Communications Director reports directly to the Executive Pastor.
